LOWTeqintensive care has successfully gone live at the IMC/Stroke Unit of the Hermann-Josef-Krankenhaus Erkelenz. The introduction of LOWTeqpdms in the IMC/Stroke Unit represents the second scheduled milestone in the hospital's overall project: the future-oriented level of digitalisation is being consistently developed in order to ensure modern, high-quality healthcare in the long term. LOWTeqintensive care was successfully launched in the intensive care unit of Hermann-Josef-Krankenhaus Erkelenz in June 2025. In the upcoming third phase of the project, LOWTeqanaesthesia is planned to be expanded to the hospital's anaesthesia department.

LOWTeqintensive care neo has successfully gone live in the neonatal unit at Evangelisches Krankenhaus Düsseldorf. LOWTeqintensive care neo supports the specialists of the neonatology team in their highly complex tasks and contributes to providing the little patients with optimal, high-quality care. Incidentally, LOWTeqpdms is no stranger to the Evangelisches Krankenhaus Düsseldorf: LOWTeqintensive care has been used successfully in the adult intensive care unit for several years.

Right on schedule and just in time for Christmas, LOWTeqintensive care went live in the intensive care unit at Krankenhaus Wittmund. LOWTeqintensive care supports the specialists in the hospital's intensive care team with the structured documentation of treatment processes and actively contributes to safe, efficient and high-quality patient care.

As scheduled, LOWTeqintensive care has been successfully implemented in the intensive care unit at Knappschaftskrankenhaus Püttlingen, following its successful implementation at Knappschaftsklinikum Sulzbach. This means that digital support for clinical processes is now being consistently extended to the second hospital of the Knappschaftsklinikum Saar. Further expansion stages, including the integration of LOWTeqpdms in the IMC and the stroke unit, are already being planned in order to continuously strengthen the digital infrastructure of the hospital network and optimise clinical workflows in the long term.

LOWTeq will be represented with a keynote speech at the Digital Health Leadership Summit 2025 at the Universitätsspital Basel. On 3 December at 10:30 a.m., Managing Director Dr Aloys Oberthür, together with the head of the LOWTeq Switzerland branch, Tomislav Ilicic, will speak on the topic of ‘AI in anaesthesia and intensive care medicine using the LOWTeq PDMS’. The Digital Health Leadership Summit will take place from 1 to 3 December 2025 at the Universitätsspital Basel and will once again offer high-calibre insights into current developments in health informatics and innovative digital health solutions from the DACH and BeNeLux regions.

LOWTeqanaesthesia has been successfully implemented in the anaesthesia department at Klinikum Hochrhein in Waldshut-Tiengen. Following the implementation of LOWTeqintensive care in the intensive care unit at Klinikum Hochrhein, the hospital is now expanding its digital infrastructure to the anaesthesia department. This step is in line with the hospital's goal of further standardising clinical processes, increasing transparency and traceability in documentation, and strengthening interdisciplinary collaboration. Simultaneously, the implementation of LOWTeqanaesthesia represents a significant advancement in modern, efficient and forward-thinking medical care.

This year, the surveillance audit took place in the second week of November. The audit was carried out by experts from TÜV Süd, and LOWTeq successfully completed the ISO 13485 and MDR surveillance audit 2025. This means that the QMS and PDMS of LOWTeq GmbH have been continuously certified since 2012, confirming once again that quality and compliance are our top priorities.

From 3 to 5 December, LOWTeq will be presenting its pioneering PDMS solutions for the intensive care and emergency medicine requirements of tomorrow at the congress of the German Interdisciplinary Association for Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine (DIVI). Under this year's motto ‘Klug entscheiden. Achtsam handeln.’ the Congress Centre Hamburg will once again focus on sustainable, patient-oriented intensive care and emergency medicine – as well as interdisciplinary exchange between experts. LOWTeqintensive care has been successfully launched in the intensive care unit at Krankenhaus Verden. The launch was preceded by comprehensive and highly professional preparation by all project partners involved, covering organisational, specialist and technical aspects. With the implementation of LOWTeqpdms in the intensive care unit, Krankenhaus Verden, which belongs to the Aller-Weser-Klinik gGmbH hospital group, is consistently pursuing its strategic course of continuously developing optimal, high-quality patient care. In line with this future-oriented clinical approach, the introduction of LOWTeqanaesthesia in the anaesthesia department of Krankenhaus Verden is also planned for the coming year in order to further expand digital support for clinical processes.

The implementation of LOWTeqintensive care was completed without issues in the intensive care unit of the Knappschaftskrankenhaus Sulzbach. LOWTeqpdms is now providing support to the hospital's intensive care team, assisting in its daily efforts to ensure a high level of patient safety and high-quality care. Alongside the Knappschaftsklinikum Püttlingen, the Knappschaftsklinikum Sulzbach is one of two hospitals belonging to the Knappschaftsklinikum Saar, which is part of the Knappschaft Kliniken group. Next month, LOWTeqintensive care is also scheduled to go live in the intensive care unit at Knappschaftskrankenhaus Püttlingen in order to establish a uniform system concept for both hospitals. Furthermore, additional expansion stages are already being planned, including for the IMC and the stroke unit.

As planned and on schedule, LOWTeqintensive care has gone live in the intensive care unit of Kreiskrankenhaus Gummersbach. Following the successful introduction of LOWTeqintensive care at Kreiskrankenhaus Waldbröl in March of this year, LOWTeqpdms is now also being used at the second facility of the Klinikum Oberberg hospital group. LOWTeqintensive care supports specialists in intensive care units across all locations, ensuring uniform, consistent documentation and a smooth workflow.

With the successful commissioning of LOWTeqanaesthesia in the anaesthesia department, St. Nikolaus-Stiftshospital in Andernach is consistently expanding its future-oriented level of digitalisation. After LOWTeqintensive care had already proven its capabilities in live operation in the intensive care unit of St. Nikolaus-Stiftshospital in Andernach, the anaesthesia team is now also relying on the support of a highly functional patient data management system (PDMS) with LOWTeqanaesthesia to ensure high-quality, modern healthcare.

Right on schedule and as planned, LOWTeqintensive care has gone live in the intensive care unit at Hermann-Josef-Krankenhaus Erkelenz. The team at the intensive care unit of the acute care hospital and teaching hospital of RWTH Aachen University will rely on the support of LOWTeqintensive care in the future to ensure efficient, safer and high-quality patient care. The introduction of LOWTeqintensive care in the intensive care unit of Hermann-Josef-Krankenhaus Erkelenz represents the first stage of the overall project: in the coming project phases, the expansion of LOWTeqpdms to the IMC/stroke unit and the hospital's anaesthesia department is planned.

LOWTeqanasthesia has been successfully launched in the anaesthesia department of the Evangelisches Krankenhaus Hattingen, which belongs to the Evangelische Stiftung Augusta and is part of the Augusta Kliniken Bochum and Hattingen network. After an intensive and careful preparation phase, the implementation of LOWTeqpdms went smoothly and without any restrictions on clinical operations. 

At the beginning of the week, LOWTeqintensive care successfully went live in the intensive care unit of Kreiskrankenhaus Waldbröl. The introduction of LOWTeqintensive care represents a significant step towards consistently structured and digital intensive care documentation. LOWTeqintensive care enables the standardised, transparent and traceable recording of all relevant clinical data at any time, thereby making an important contribution to ensuring high-quality patient care. The implementation of LOWTeqintensivecare at Kreiskrankenhaus Waldbröl, which belongs to the Klinikum Oberberg GmbH group of companies, also forms the basis for the cross-location introduction of LOWTeqpdms within the entire hospital network.

And so it continues: Following the Knappschaft hospitals in Bochum, Bottrop, Recklinghausen and Würselen, LOWTeqanaesthesia has now also been successfully launched at Knappschaft Kliniken Gelsenkirchen-Buer. This means that LOWTeqanaesthesia is now live in five hospitals in the Knappschaft Kliniken group, supporting local anaesthesia and nursing specialists in their goal of improving process quality, reducing documentation work and increasing patient safety.

The rollout of LOWTeqpdms in the anaesthesia departments of the Knappschaft Kliniken continues successfully: Following the Knappschaft hospitals in Bochum, Bottrop and Recklinghausen, LOWTeqanaesthesia has also been in live operation at the Rhein-Maas Klinikum in Würselen since last week. As always, the task of LOWTeqanaesthesia is to provide the hospital's anaesthesia team with optimal support throughout the entire perioperative process in order to ensure safe patient care.

We are pleased to announce that Tobias Weigand is joining our management team as our third managing director with immediate effect. Dr Christoph Weigand, CEO of LOWTeq GmbH, will be attending the Digitalisation Summit for the Healthcare Sector in Düsseldorf from 12 to 14 February. The event is being organised by the Entscheiderfabrik, an initiative for decision-makers in the healthcare sector. LOWTeq is already a long-standing member of this initiative, and like all the other participants, LOWTeq works as an independent company on the development of digital innovations and forward-looking solutions for the healthcare sector.

From 12 to 13 February, Dr. Aloys Oberthür, CEO of LOWTeq GmbH, and Tomislav Ilicic, Head of the Swiss branch, will represent the company at the general meeting of United Web Solutions for Healthcare. The meeting will be accompanied by a technical discussion on the topic ‘Solutions for the Cloud’. LOWTeq GmbH has been a member of United Web Solutions for Healthcare e.V., an initiative of innovative and specialised IT companies in the healthcare sector, for many years.

In its search for the best possible patient data management system (PDMS) for anaesthesia, the intensive care unit and neonatology, the Klinikum Wilhelmshaven has opted for LOWTeqpdms. The Wilhelmshaven-based hospital relies on the seamless integration of LOWTeqpdms with its existing hospital information system (HIS) to optimise clinical documentation and achieve even more efficient care for its patients. LOWTeqpdms is scheduled to go live in October 2025.

LOWTeq has won the tender issued by Agaplesion Diakonieklinikum Rotenburg for a patient data management system (PDMS) for anaesthesia. With its modern and integrative solutions, LOWTeqpdms eactly meets the hospital's requirements for future-oriented modernisation and digitalisation. The preparations for the implementation of LOWTeqpdms will start shortly.

The Krankenhaus Wittmund has decided to use LOWTeqpdms in its intensive care unit. By integrating LOWTeqpdms, the acute care hospital in the northeast of East Frisia has taken a forward-looking step towards digital transformation, focusing on efficient medical documentation and sustainable quality in patient care. In addition to providing highly qualified and first-class medical and nursing care, Krankenhaus Wittmund has another special feature: the clinic is an active supporter of the Low German language.

It was great news to round off last year: LOWTeq was successful in the tender for a PDMS in the neonatology department of the Vestische Caritas-Kliniken GmbH in Datteln. The implementation of LOWTeqpdms is planned for a total of 26 beds in the perinatal centre and eight beds each in the intensive care unit and the palliative care unit. LOWTeqpdms can thus make an important contribution to providing the best possible care for premature and newborn babies in the neonatology department of the Vestische Caritas-Kliniken. The aim is to gradually prepare for the go-live of LOWTeqpdms in the coming months.

The go-live of LOWTeqpdms has been successfully completed in the anaesthesia department of the Knappschaftskrankenhaus Recklinghausen. This means that another hospital of the Knappschaft Kliniken GmbH, after Bottrop and Bochum, is relying on the proven support of LOWTeq's patient data management system (PDMS). As in the other hospitals, LOWTeqpdms is enabling significant progress in digital patient care and optimising clinical workflows at the Knappschaftskrankenhaus Recklinghausen. The successful launch of the system underpins LOWTeq's position as a reliable partner for modern and integrative PDMS solutions.

The commissioning of LOWTeqpdms in the intensive care unit of the Christophorus Klinik in Coesfeld, in the beautiful Münsterland region, took place last week on schedule and without any problems. The use of LOWTeqpdms meets the Christophorus Klinik in Coesfeld's requirements for optimised patient care and more efficient workflows.

At the beginning of November 2024, the regular recertification of the quality management system (QMS) of LOWTeq GmbH was due. After the three-day audit by TÜV SÜD auditors, the result was clear: LOWTeq's quality management system has once again successfully passed recertification according to ISO 13485:2016. The recertification confirms the successful continuation and further development of LOWTeq's quality management system and underlines the high standard of its processes and structures.

This year's congress of the German Interdisciplinary Association for Intensive and Emergency Medicine, DIVI24, will take place in Hamburg from 4 to 6 December under the motto ‘Competence in the team: innovation meets experience’. Of course, LOWTeq will be there again and will present all new developments and innovations of their PDMS solutions. LOWTeq GmbH has opened a branch in St. Gallen to provide its Swiss customers with direct, on-site advice. Under the leadership of Tomislav Ilicic, LOWTeq is thus strengthening its regional presence and proximity to customers, enabling it to respond to specific needs and continuously improve the quality of its services.

The themed discussions and the general meeting of United Web Solutions for Healthcare e.V. took place this year at Medatixx in Bamberg. The main topic of the multi-day event was the use of artificial intelligence to optimise everyday processes in healthcare. Representatives of the member companies offered inspiring approaches and discussed practical solutions – from effective modelling and training of new AI systems in medicine to the question of how AI can be used in an economically sensible way. In this context, LOWTeq managing director Dr Aloys Oberthür, as a member of United Web Solutions, provided new impetus with his lecture ‘KI zur Erkennung von Messwertartefakten im PDMS’.

Following the Universitätsklinikum Knappschaftskrankenhaus Bochum, the anaesthesia departement of the Knappschaftskrankenhaus Bottrop has now also successfully implemented LOWTeqpdms. Here too, LOWTeqpdms is tasked with improving data management and supporting patient safety through precise, digital documentation. With the introduction of LOWTeqpdms at the Knappschaftskrankenhaus Bottrop, the rollout at the anaesthesia wards of the Knappschafts Kliniken is progressing according to plan. Implementation at the remaining hospitals will now follow step by step.

At temperatures typical of late summer and in a magnificent setting on the sunny harbour terrace in Cologne's Rheinauhafen, health start-ups and companies presented their innovative solutions for digital health topics yesterday. In this context, the two LOWTeq managing directors, Dr. Aloys Oberthür and Dr. Christoph Weigand, presented the PDMS solutions from LOWTeq GmbH and provided exciting insights into the future of digital health care. The meet-up was once again organised by Digital Health in Cologne. The KölnBusiness Wirtschaftsförderung, the Gesundheitsregion KölnBonn e.V and the IHK Köln combine their activities here to strengthen the digital health scene and support the digitalisation of the regional health industry.

LOWTeq has won the PDMS tender from GFO mbH (Gemeinnützige Gesellschaft der Franziskanerinnen zu Olpe mbH) for the intensive care units of a total of 11 hospitals. The acceptance of the bid also marked the start of the project realisation, as the go-live of LOWTeqpdms is to take place as quickly as possible. It goes without saying that LOWTeq always works to the highest quality standards, even when implementing projects in a short time frame.

After winning the tender to implement a patient data management system (PDMS) in all anaesthesia departments of the Knappschaft Kliniken, LOWTeqpdms has now gone live for the first time in the anaesthesia department of the Universitätsklinikum Knappschaftskrankenhaus Bochum. Further anaesthesia departments will gradually follow in order to increase medical efficiency throughout the entire facility.

This year, LOWTeq GmbH will once again be presenting its PDMS solutions at DMEA 2024 in Berlin and showcasing all new developments at Europe's leading event for digital health. As part of the Studium Universale at Cologne's 'Gymnasium Rodenkirchen' secondary school, LOWTeq Managing Director Dr. Aloys Oberthür spoke to the participating students about the increasing importance and opportunities of the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in medicine and healthcare. One focus of his presentation was on the possible applications of AI in intensive care medicine. In addition to basic concepts of artificial intelligence, such as machine learning, deep learning or federated learning and examples of the use of AI in medicine, the challenges were of course also addressed. The question of the availability of data was discussed just as lively as the issue of data protection, which plays a key role in the medical field and in healthcare in general.

LOWTeq's QMS (quality management system) has passed the regular, annual monitoring audit with flying colours. The TÜV Süd audit team spent two days checking LOWTeq's QMS for conformity as well as for flawless functionality. Result: Very good, passed! QMS certificate confirmed!

Now it's official: the Knappschaftskliniken are relying on the support of LOWTeqpdms in their anaesthesia departments. For LOWTeq, being awarded the contract to use its PDMS solutions in the anaesthesia departments of the seven hospitals is further confirmation of the quality and user-friendliness of its products in practical use. LOWTeqpdms has already been used successfully in the intensive care units of some of these hospitals for some time.

Together with the DSO (German Organ Transplantation Foundation), LOWTeq has realised a REST interface to DETECT, which is being piloted at the Sana Kliniken Duisburg. Other clinics will follow shortly. This means that LOWTeq is now also one of the PDMS manufacturers with a DETECT connection. The DETECT screening tool was developed as efficient organisational support for doctors responsible for transplantation. DETECT evaluates selected data regularly transmitted by the PDMS from patients undergoing intensive medical monitoring and can thus make a valuable contribution to the systematic identification of a potential irreversible loss of brain function and thus the possibility of realising an organ donation.

Of course, we will be there again this year in Hamburg, at what is now the 23rd Congress of the German Interdisciplinary Association for Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine. From 29 November to 1 December 2023, we will be presenting the latest developments in our PDMS solutions, demonstrating our innovations and fresh research projects, and discussing the pressing issues in intensive care and emergency medicine with you. The Bescheinigungsstelle Forschungszulage, or BSFZ for short, has awarded LOWTeq the BSFZ seal for entrepreneurial innovation competence. The award is given to companies that drive ideas and innovations and are eligible to apply for funding through the research allowance. LOWTeq receives the seal for its in-house research and development projects in the field of AI.

With Landshut-Achdorf and Vilsbiburg, two of the hospitals united under the umbrella of LAKUMED Kliniken have decided to introduce LOWTeqpdms in both their anaesthesia and intensive care units. As a first step in the project, the successive commissioning of LOWTeqpdms in the intensive care units of both hospitals was agreed by the end of August 2023. Following implementation in the intensive care unit at Vilsbiburg Hospital, LOWTeqpdms has now also been launched in the intensive care unit at Landshut-Achdorf Hospital as planned. Preparations for the scheduled use of LOWTeqpdms in the anaesthesia departments of both hospitals have also started.

LOWTeqpdms has gone live as planned in the anaesthesia department at Klinikum Saarbrücken in a controlled and smooth manner. The successful go-live was accompanied by an additional special feature: LOWTeq GmbH's development department also created a premedication app for tablets with functions specially tailored to the requirements of the anaesthesia department at Klinikum Saarbrücken. Preparations for the commissioning of LOWTeqpdms in the intensive care unit of the Klinikum Saarbrücken have also already begun.

The commissioning of LOWTeqpdms in the intensive care unit of the Diakonie Klinikum Jung-Stilling in Siegen went off without a hitch. The special thing about this go-live is that the project was implemented under the general contractorship of Telekom Healthcare Solutions - proof of the deep integration of LOWTeqpdms in iMedOne®. The introduction of LOWTeqpdms in the anaesthesia department of the Diakonie Klinikum Jung-Stilling in Siegen is also already in the starting blocks.

Before Christmas and before the end of the year, LOWTeqpdms went live in the intensive care unit of the Evangelische Elisabeth Klinik in Berlin-Mitte. After a project duration of just under eight months, LOWTeqpdms was successfully put into production. The time schedule for the implementation of the project was adhered to 1:1. The Evangelische Elisabeth Klinik is the seventh hospital of the Johannesstift Diakonie to rely on the support of LOWTeq's CIS solutions.

LOWTeqpdms has been supporting the anaesthesia department of the St.-Antonius-Hospital in Eschweiler for more than two years and now LOWTeqpdms has also gone live in the intensive care unit of the largest denominational hospital in the Aachen city region. Due to the professional preparation of all those involved, the go-live of LOWTeqpdms turned out to be a safe and smooth process.

The DRK-Krankenhaus Mölln-Ratzeburg now also relies on the support of LOWTeqpdms in its intensive care unit. LOWTeqpdms has already been actively supporting the anesthesia department of the DRK-Krankenhaus Mölln-Ratzeburg for some time. Thus, the planned go-live in the hospital's intensive care unit in 2023 means an expansion of the existing installation of LOWTeq's modular clinical information system. The basis for a successful go-live is the replacement of the previous CIS in the intensive care unit of the DRK-Krankenhaus Mölln-Ratzeburg.

LOWTeq receives the MDR certificate after intensive testing. Thus, LOWTeq has already successfully completed the conversion of the MDD certificate into a valid MDR certificate at this point. As a result, LOWTeqpdms is certified as a class IIb medical device in accordance with the new Medical Device Regulation (2017/745/EU).

The acute care hospital Bergmannsheil und Kinderklinik Buer has decided to use LOWTeqpdms in its intensive care unit. The Gelsenkirchen hospital Bergmannsheil und Kinderklinik Buer is already the fifth Knappschaftskrankenhaus to decide to implement LOWTeq's modern and advanced CIS in its intensive care unit. While LOWTeqpdms is already in operation at the intensive care unit of the Knappschaftskrankenhaus Bottrop as well as at the intensive care unit of the Knappschaftskrankenhaus Dortmund, The Klinik am Park Lünen and the Paracelsus-Klinik Marl, the go-live at the hospital Bergmannsheil and Kinderklinik Buer is planned for 2023.

The Municipal Hospital Maria-Hilf Brilon gGmbH decides to use LOWTeqpdms for its intensive care unit. Located in the heart of the beautiful Hochsauerland region, the Maria-Hilf Municipal Hospital in the Brilon Health Park is one of the region's most efficient hospitals for basic and standard care. The go-live of LOWTeqpdms is planned for the course of the next year.

Yesterday, a celebration was held in Basel to mark the successful introduction of LOWTeqpdms in all areas of acute care at the Claraspital. After anaesthesia and emergency departement, LOWTeqpdms was also installed in the intensive care unit of the highly specialised acute hospital. The celebration was held in style in a beautiful ambience and the LOWTeq team received a lot of positive feedback for its product and support.

Stephanie Benzler has started at LOWTeq GmbH since the beginning of November. After working in an established media agency and in the press department of a renowned owner-managed clinic group, she supports LOWTeq GmbH as assistant to the management. The focus of her activities lies in the area of sales.

The third LOWTeq user meeting was also a complete success: From 29 to 30 September, the users of the LOWTeqpdms met in Cologne for a professional exchange. The meeting started with a boat trip along the Cologne panorama. In a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere, experiences from clinical practice with the integrative PDMS solutions from LOWTeq were exchanged and discussed. The second day was dedicated to the professional discourse on the question of the requirement profile of modern PDMS solutions as well as future development of the LOWTeqpdms.

The hospital Landshut-Achdorf and the hospital Vilsbiburg of the LAKUMED clinics rely in each case in the anesthesia and their intensive care unit on the support of LOWTeqpdms. LAKUMED Kliniken is the largest medicl service provider in the Landshut region. The introduction of LOWTeqpdms meets the high requirements of the clinic association in terms of optimal data acquisition and data security as well as patient safety.

The Diakonie Klinikum Jung-Stilling in Siegen is introducing a new hospital information system (HIS). The contract for this project was awarded to Telekom Healthcare Solutions with its iMedOne® hospital information system. The matching clinical information system (CIS) for the intensive care unit is supplied by LOWTeq with its LOWTeqpdms. Thus, Klinikum Jung-Stilling is also another example of the successful integration of LOWTeqpdms into the hospital information system iMedOne®. The project implementation is planned for the course of the next year.

LOWTeq has also passed the second stage for successful MDR certification. During Stage 2, LOWTeq was audited for three days by an experienced team from TÜV Süd with regard to conformity with the requirements of the MDR (Medical Device Regulation) and the functioning of the processes was extensively tested. The successful Stage 2 audit is considered the initial certification audit after passing the Stage 1 audit and is in turn a prerequisite for the certification recommendation of the audit team of the notified body.

LOWTeq has easily passed the first stage for successful MDR certification (Medical Device Regulation), which is mandatory for all manufacturers of medical devices. The content of Stage 1 is the readiness audit, i.e. the review of the technical documentation and the completeness of the QMS (quality management system). A successful Stage 1 audit is the first step on the way to certification and a prerequisite for admission to the following Stage 2 audit.

The Evangelische Elisabeth Klinik in Berlin-Mitte has decided to use LOWTeqpdms in its intensive care unit. Thus, the seventh hospital of the Johannesstift Diakonie has also chosen LOWTeqpdms. In addition to the acute and accident hospital Evangelische Elisabeth Klinik, LOWTeqpdms is already successfully in use for the Johannesstift Diakonie in the capital at the hospitals Evangelische Lungenklinik, Evangelisches Krankenhaus Hubertus, Martin Luther Krankenhaus and Evangelisches Waldkrankenhaus Spandau as well as at the Evangelisches Krankenhaus Paul Gerhardt Stift in Lutherstadt Wittenberg and the Klinik Amsee in Waren (Müritz). And as always, there is no time to lose, because the go-live is planned for the end of the year.

This year, finally, live and in colour again: from 26 - 28 April 2022, LOWTeq GmbH will be presenting the latest developments in its PDMS solutions at DMEA in Berlin, Europe's most important trade fair for digital healthcare. Also with regard to topics such as MDR and KHZG, we look forward to being able to present our solutions to you in person again, which meet all the requirements that are placed on a powerful PDMS system today and in the future. The municipal hospital in Saarbrücken, which is one of the most modern maximum care hospitals in southwest Germany with a total of 600 hospital beds and 19 specialist departments, has decided to use LOWTeqpdms in its anesthesiology and intensive care departments. Now there is no time to lose and preparations must begin, because the go-live is already scheduled for the first quarter of 2023.

TÜV Süd has become LOWTeq GmbH's new partner for testing and certifying LOWTeqpdms as a medical device and for monitoring the quality management system (QMS). With TÜV Süd, LOWTeq has chosen an experienced and competent partner to ensure the timely and successful conversion of the existing MDD certificate of LOWTeqpdms into a valid MDR certificate and to meet the highest quality standards.

Claraspital Basel has already used LOWTeqpdms in anesthesiology and reception for some time. Since last week LOWTeq’s PDMS solution is now also in use in the intensive care unit of this Swiss acute care facility. Implementation of LOWteqpdms required the replacement of the former PDMS system. The process went without a hitch, thanks to a strategy that LOWTeq developed especially for this project.

The Paracelsus Clinic Marl has selected LOWTeqpdms for its intensive care unit. Go-live is planned for the first quarter of 2022, and preparations for a successful start are already well underway. The Paracelsus clinic is one of two facilities of Klinikum Vest GmbH in Recklinghausen.

The LOWTeqpdms go-live in the intensive care unit of the Hattingen Evangelical Hospital proceeded smoothly and according to plan. The Hattingen Evangelical Hospital is funded by the Evangelical Augusta Foundation in Bochum, which also funds the Augusta hospitals in Bochum and Bochum-Linden. LOWTeq is already an old friend at these two facilities, which have used LOWTeqpdms to good effect for several years now.

With Andreas Prenger, the Support Team at LOWTeq GmbH has gained new strength. A degreed caregiver, Andreas’ long experience in that field will be a great help to the Support Team. His experience as a trainer and workshop leader in the implementation of computer-aided care documentation in a well-known psychiatric and psychotherapy clinic will also be a boon.

Immediately after getting her Master of Engineering in Information Technology, Suruthi Raman started her career in the LOWTeq Developer Team. In addition to her degrees, Suruthi Raman also has a certificate from an additional trainee program in software development, which she completed between her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees.

St. Antonius Hospital in Cleves has chosen LOWTeqpdms for its anaesthesiology and intensive care units. Go-live is planned for November of this year and preparations for on-schedule startup are already underway.

In May the annual audit of our LOWTeqpdms took place, more specifically the monitoring audit of our QMS to ISO 13485 and the audit of our MDD certificate. Once again everything went smoothly – we passed again! Simultaneously, our plans for the timely conversion of our existing MDD certification into a valid MDR certificate for LOWTeqpdms are well underway. The new European Ordinance on Medical Products requires that manufacturers of medical products make changes to their technical documentation as well as the documentation within their quality management systems.

The startup of LOWTeqpdms in the intensive care unit at the Kreiskrankenhaus Freiberg gGmbH proceeded successfully, on spec and on schedule. The only specialist hospital in its region of Saxony, and a member of the Sana Kliniken AG group, the facility selected LOWTeqpdms last October.

LOWTeq GmbH is teaming up with Dosing GmbH to boost patient safety through the integration of medication information system AiDKlinik® into LOWTeqpdms. As soon as a medication prescription is released in LOWTepdms, AiDKlinik® shows all known interactions between the drugs via Flycicle®. Thus, the choice and dosages of medications can be adjusted right when clinical decisions are made, for safety in drug treatment. By integrating AiDKlinik® into LOWTeqpdms, LOWTeq GmbH is continuing its commitment to high quality standards, and with AiDKlinik® it is working with a certified medical product.

After a short detour in an external IT department, Stefan Flach is back with the LOWTeq GmbH Support Department. The team there can again depend on him for project management and software training, as he has already worked for us in those areas for several years.

For a smooth workflow, LOWTeq is integrating Timerbee into LOWTeqpdms at St. Claraspital Basel, to achieve optimum use of the operating rooms. The integration of Timerbee in LOWTeqpdms is accomplished via an FHIR interface that LOWTeq GmbH developed together with Imilia GmbH.

LOWTeqpdms implementation went smoothly and on schedule in the neonatal unit of the Evangelischen Waldkrankenhaus Spandau (EWK), a company in the Johannesstift Diakonie. The 23-bed unit provides care for premature and newborn babies, now with the support of LOWTeqpdms. The implementation was notable for the extraordinarily constructive collaboration between the EWK and LOWTeq project teams.

It’s something special, so we’d like to let everyone know that this year we’re celebrating a round birthday – LOWTeq is turning 20! Since 2001, our LOWTeqpdms has been an example of the successful development of innovative and integrative patient data management solutions. Always with great employees and great customers! IT service providers are required to be qualified per § 21 Para. 5 Line 1 of the Krankenhausstrukturfonds-Verordnung (KHSFV), in order to develop, apply for and implement digitalization projects for a hospital operator or clinic within the framework of the Krankenhauszukunftsgesetz (KHZG). In order to receive this qualification from the BAS (Federal German Office for Social Security), applicants must take coursework and pass a test. At LOWTeq, in addition to CEO Dr. Christoph Weigand, Bernd Bolduan, Patrick Schwermer, Michael Weigand and Kamran Awan now also have this certification from the BAS.

In a joint project with Sana IT Services GmbH, Jan Hahnisch and Fresenius Netcare GmbH, LOWTeq GmbH has successfully implemented an interface for the continuous reporting of medical services at the Sana Kliniken Duisburg. Every day at 00:00, DRG billable services for all patients in intensive care are reported to i.s.h.med and the DRG collector. Thus medical controlling can already review revenue generation during inpatient treatment.

From 17. to 18. November Dr. Christoph Weigand, CEO of LOWTeq GmbH will participate in the “Results Event of Decision Cycle 2020 / German Hospital Congress” in the “Decider Factory,” an initiative for health industry decision-makers. Via live stream he’ll present the PDMS strategy with regard to the pending Krankenhauszukunftsgesetz or KHZG. With perfect timing, LOWTeqintensiv care has gone into use in the intensive care unit of Caritas Klinik Maria Heimsuchung Berlin-Pankow. Strict corona precautions were maintained during the go-live, so that implementation could proceed smoothly and rapidly.

In the search for a high-performance PDMS for its intensive care unit, Kreiskrankenhaus Freiberg gGmbH, a member of Sana Kliniken AG, chose LOWTeqpdms from among the companies tendering bids. No time was lost once the decision to buy was made, and the project is already being implemented.

LOWTeqpdms has been in use since 2017 in the intensive care unit of the Evangelisches Waldkrankenhaus Spandau, a Johannesstift Diakonie gAG facility. Now the clinic has added LOWTeqpdms for its neonatal unit as well. Go-live is planned for QII 2021.

The implementation of LOWTeqpdms in the intensive care unit at the Kantonsspital Glarus was fast and focused. The facility is central to health care in Switzerland’s Glarus Canton and the adjoining region, and has used LOWTeqpdms in anaesthesia for some years now.

The Swiss company AnaesthesiaSA, formed in 2012 by anaesthesiologists, has chosen LOWTeqanaesthesia for its associated hospitals Clinique Générale de Fribourg and Clinique de Montchoisi in Lausanne. Implementation will start at the Clinique Générale de Fribourg, with go-live planned for the end of 2020. Implementation of LOWTeqanaesthesia in the Clinique de Montchoisi in Lausanne will follow. The collaboration with AnaesthesiaSA also meant another first for LOWTeq – our first PDMS module in a French version. Nous sommes très contents!

The regular recertification audit of LOWTeqpdms came up again, and we are proud to say that our patient data management system once again successfully gained certification. Well done, and keep up the good work!

The launch of LOWTeqintensive care went on time and as planned in the weaning unit for patients on artificial or assisted respiration at the Evangelischen Lungenklinik in Berlin. Part of the Johannesstift Diakonie gAG, the clinic has long used LOWTeqpdms in its intensive care unit, and so knew who to turn to for the weaning unit.

Since the beginning of March, Patrick Schwermer has been with LOWTeq GmbH in Sales and Project Management. After working at a provider of online solutions for an international corporate group and a software developer, this degreed media designer is devoting his expertise to improving efficiency in our Sales structures and applying his analytical abilities to our Project Management.

After a bid tender process, the Caritas-Klinik Maria Heimsuchung Berlin-Pankow has accepted LOWTeqintensiv care for its interdisciplinary intensive therapy unit. The requirement was for a PDMS system certified as a medical product that could be linked with the existing AIS and take in data from the medical devices in the facility. LOWTeqintensiv care is a perfect fit, and go-live is planned for November of this year.

The startup of LOWTeqpdms in the intensive care unit at Haus St. Vincenz Heiligenstadt went perfectly. After Haus Reifenstein, Haus St. Vincenz Heiligenstadt is the second facility in the Eichsfeld Klinikum gGmbH to use LOWTeqpdms in its ICU.

Since mid-January, Fabian Frieß has been contributing his skills to our Development team. Formerly a systems developer at an international provider of integrated software solutions for the processing industry and logistics, the focus of this IT specialist’s work at LOWTeq GmbH is in interface development. 

The implementation of LOWTeqemergency at St. Claraspital Basel went as desired and as planned. Following LOWTeqanaesthesia, this is the second LOWTeqpdms module in operation in this Swiss acute care hospital. The go-live was also a successful premiere – St. Claraspital Basel is the first Swiss hospital to use LOWTeqemergency in its emergency care unit. What’s more, implementation of LOWTeqintensive care in the facility’s ICU is planned for 2021.

The implementation of LOWTeqpdms in the anaesthesiology department at the St.-Antonius-Hospital Eschweiler went quickly and smoothly. As an academic teaching hospital of the RWTH Aachen, with LOWTeqpdms the St.-Antonius-Hospital gGmbH in Eschweiler will further increase its high level of digitalization in anaesthesiology.

On 13. November 2019 Dr. Aloys Oberthür, CEO of LOWTeq GmbH, presented the flexible and integrative patient data management system LOWTeqpdms to students at an industrial colloquium held regularly at the Mathematical Institute of the University of Cologne. Afterwards Dr. Oberthür fielded students’ questions together with Kamran Awan, software developer at LOWTeq GmbH.

The time came for our quality management system (QMS) to be recertified, and we are proud to report that all went well. The conversion of our QMS certification to the latest 13485:2016 standard was a success.

LOWTeqpdms was taken into operation on schedule early this month in Anaesthesia at the Clara hospital in Basel. This successful go-live, which took place just two months after the contract signing, is the first of three planned implementations of LOWTeqpdms at this institution.

The Basel Clara hospital has officially decided to use modules of LOWTeqpdms. This highly specialized acute hospital will work with LOWTeqanaesthesia, LOWTeqintensive care and LOWTeqemergency. It is the first institution in Switzerland to use LOWTeqpdms in all of its acute medicine units. The go-live in Anaesthesia is planned for early June this year.

LOWTeqpdms was taken into operation in the intensive care unit of the Lichtenfels hospital right on time. The implementation process was marked by a very effective and positive collaboration.

With the Stroke Unit, Intermediate Care and Adult Intensive Care, LOWTeqpdms is now in use at three further units of the Duisburg Sana Clinics. A particular feature of the successful go-live in Adult Intensive Care was the problem-free replacement of the legacy Tachis system by LOWTeqpdms.

From 20-22 February 2019 the Hanseatic City of Bremen is hosting the 29th Symposium for Intensive Medicine + Intensive Care. Naturally, LOWTeq GmbH is again on hand to present the latest developments in PDMS solutions. Come see us in Hall 4, Booth M15 – we look forward to meeting you!

The 18th Congress of the DIVI, the Germain Interdisciplinary Intensive and Emergency Care Federation, takes place this year on 5-7 December in Leipzig. “Quality and Patient Safety” is this year’s motto, and naturally we’re there again. You’ll find us on Level 0 at Booth B55, right next to the neonatal intensive station. We look forward to showing you the newest refinements to our PDMS solutions and discussing with you the latest issues that a modern PDMS system must address.   

At short notice and on time, LOWTeqpdms was taken into service at the Paul Gerhard Foundation Evangelical Hospital in Wittenberg, the town where Luther lived and worked for much of his life. This is the sixth hospital in the Paul Gerhardt Diakonie e. V. foundation in Berlin and Wittenberg to be equipped with LOWTeqpdms. The startup process was smooth, so that all features were operational as soon as the PDMS was implemented.

The second LOWTeq User Meeting took place 13-14 Sep. 2018 in Cologne. After a relaxed cookout the evening before, the first day of the event was all business.
This year’s focus was on the topics of medication, fluid management and usability. These subjects were dealt with intensively in presentations, workshops and discussions. The extremely successful user conference ended with a look at the requirements that a modern PDMS will need to meet in the future.

Punctually in the first third of this year, LOWTeqpdms has been taken into operation at the pediatric intensive care and neonatal unit of the Wedau-Kliniken of the Sana Kliniken hospital system in Duisburg. Implementation was a success and now LOWTeq GmbH’s first project with Sana Kliniken Duisburg is up and running

Once again LOWTeq will be at the German Anaesthesia Congress in Nürnberg, the DAC 2018. In Hall 7A at Stand 27 we’ll present our latest product developments and show what a modern PDMS can do. We look forward to seeing you there and to enjoying some in-depth technical discussions!

At the West German Anaesthesia Conference 2018 at RuhrCongress Bochum LOWTeq GmbH will present the latest version of LOWTeqpdms. The event motto is “Smart decisions in anaesthesia and intensive care” for the 2nd year in a row and we look forward to welcoming you at Booth 30 for a smart discussion among professionals.   

The new year got off to a good start with the successful go-live of LOWTeqpdms at the intensive care unit of the Evangelisches Krankenhaus Oberhausen. All the preparations had been completed before the end of the previous year, so that the system could be taken into use in January 2018 without issues. 

Modular structure and individual configuration - in Hall 4 M15 at the 28th Symposium for Intensive Medicine + Intensive Care in Bremen LOWTeq GmbH will show booth visitors how a first-class PDMS can look. At the start of the new year Katharina Gausmann added her capabilities to the LOWTeq GmbH developer team. Katharina Gausmann is not new to LOWTeq - before coming onboard as Junior Software Developer, Katharina Gausmann, who has a degree in media technology, proved her mettle in a several-week internship with our company.

With the start of the new year, the LOWTeq GmbH support team can look forward to knowledgeable reinforcement with Thorsten Ellebrecht. A degreed health and pediatric nurse, Ellebrecht comes directly to the LOWTeq Support Department from many years of experience in the neonatal intensive care unit of a well-known German university hospital.

The implementation of LOWTeqpdms in the intensive care units of the children’s clinic at the Wedau-Kliniken location of the Sana Kliniken Duisburg has been confirmed and will take place soon. This is the first project as part of a framework contract between Sana Kliniken Duisburg and LOWTeq GmbH.

On the heels of the intensive and intermediate care units of the Mülheim Evangelical Hospital, the intensive care unit of the Oberhausen Evangelical Hospital will now be fitted out with LOWTeqpdms. LOWTeqpdms will also be used in the anaesthesia operations of both hospitals.

From 6 to 8 December 2017, Leipzig will play host to the 17th Congress of the DIVI, the German Interdisciplinary Intensive and Emergency Care Association. We will naturally be there to present our progressive, integrative CIS solutions, including functionalities for pediatrics and neonatology. With Klinik Amsee LOWTeqpdms is outfitting the intensive care unit at its fifth hospital in the Paul Gerhard Diakonie e.V. group. Implementation followed a framework agreement on the use of LOWTeqpdms for the intensive care units of all seven members of the group. The Evangelische Waldkrankenhaus Spandau, Evangelische Krankenhaus Hubertus, Martin-Luther-Krankenhaus and Evangelische Lungenklinik Berlin have already successfully implemented LOWTeqpdms in their IC units.

Since mid-October, preparations for the implementation of LOWTeqpdms in the intensive care unit of Haus Reifenstein have been in full swing. Haus Reifenstein is one of three hospitals of the Eichsfeld Klinikum in Thüringen. The go-live is slated for first quarter 2018.

Since early October 2017 Klinik am Park Lünen has been working with LOWTeqpdms, adding to the number of institutions in the Klinikum Westfalen Association that use LOWTeq GmbH. The Knappschaftskrankenhaus Dortmund already uses LOWTeqpdms with success for two intensive care units.

Since late June LOWTeqpdms has been in successful use in the St. Elisabeth House of the Bonn Gemeinschaftskrankenhaus (Cooperative Hospital). St. Elisabeth House follows St. Peter House as the second to use LOWTeqpdms for intensive care. The anaesthesia departments of all three houses of the hospital - St. Peter, St. Elisabeth and the St. John health center - have long been LOWTeqpdms users.

In mid-June 2017 LOWTeqpdms successfully went live in the anaesthesia department of the German Red Cross hospital in Sömmerda. LOWTeq has operated the facility’s communication server for some time. As further evidence of a successful relationship, the complete conversion to LOWTeqpdms took less than a week and went without issues.

LOWTeq GmbH to present innovative and integrative CIS solutions. Once again, LOWTeq GmbH will have its own booth at the Germany Anaesthesia Congress (DAC). The Gesundheitszentrum Fricktal AG health center is adding the Rheinfelden hospital and Alta Aesthetica private clinic to the list of its facilities using LOWTeqpdms. Since 2013, LOWTeqpdms has been in successful use for anaesthesia at the company’s Laufenburg hospital. Going forward it will also support anaesthesia at the two other facilities.

This year again we’re attending the Bremen symposium on intensive medicine and care. We look forward to interesting presentations and information, and many discussions around practical issues. 

This year the Decider Factory in Düsseldorf is holding the 11th Decider Event for IT in the Health Industry. The purpose of the event is to select five key IT topics for the current calendar year. 12 finalists will present their proposals, among them LOWTeq. Together with Mark Neumann of ID Information und Dokumentation im Gesundheitswesen and PD. Dr. Jan Florian Heuer, Chief Physician of the Augusta-Kranken-Anstalt Bochum, LOWTeq CEO Dr. Christoph Weigand will present on “CIS and AMTS together for medication in the hospital - ensuring the highest possible medication therapy safety”. Since the start of 2017 the Knappschaftskrankenhaus (miners’ hospital) in Dortmund has used LOWTeqpdms in its intensive care unit. The iMedOne® integration design was adapted to the Citrix installation of the HIS. With the go-live of LOWTeqpdms the Knappschaftskrankenhaus Dortmund has started a successful relationship between Knappschaft IT Services GmbH and LOWTeq GmbH based on the terms of a framework agreement.

Since January of this year the Hubertus Evangelical Hospital has been the second facility of Paul Gerhardt Diakonie e.V. to use LOWTeqpdms. A framework agreement between Paul Gerhardt Diakonie e.V. and LOWTeq GmbH provides for LOWTeqpdms use in the intensive care stations of all seven of the organization’s facilities.

Since January 2017 the Evangelical Waldkrankenhaus (Forest Hospital) in Spandau has been working with LOWTeqpdms. LOWTeqpdms is in use in the intensive care station in what is the first of seven facilities covered by a framework agreement between Paul Gerhardt Diakonie e.V. and LOWTeq GmbH.
